Marcus Thomas New Zealand cavemen

For the past two weeks we have been reading about a men named

Marcus Thomas Marcus Thomas is a men who been on

a lot of adventure in caves in the book Marcus Thomas

explored the longest cave in

New Zealand waitomo.

This book explains to the reader what you will need and whats the rule

what the rule are:

• Each person must have three good sources of light 
• Always cave with at least two other poeple
• make sure you have outdoors skills
• most importantly , always tell someone where you are going and when you'll be back.

The caving equipment is boots so your feet is not muddy and in your shoe also climbing rope so you can go deeper in caves you will also need a

headlamp so you can see through the darkness also we need a helmet so you could protect your head and brain we also need a compass so you know when where you are going we also need climbing harness so

it can hold you when you are going down the cave also you need a tape

measure so you can measure the caves and we need overalls just in

case you are cold or if there is water dripping on you.

On Wednesday  my mum and I went to

McDonald we had a big mac. After we got our big mac we

went to pak n save and sat down outside of pak n safe and

ate  there. After we finish eating our meal we went in side

pak n save and went to get some lunch and drinks for us.

When we got our salad I saw my bff Lesieli and told my mum

if I can see her she said yes I was happy that she was

here she was with her mum and they were getting some drinks

Lesieli saw me and we did our handshake.

Then we were talking about swimming she told me if I was swimming I

told her that I am not going swimming when we went

around the biscuit we were trying to do a goodbye handshake.

After we were looking for a goodbye handshake Lesieli mum

called her to help her put the shopping in the counter she had to go i said to her goodbye we did our handshake I was so happy that my

best friend was with me and we had a really inspiring time there

Finally my mum and I went to the shop and got some banana,onions,
drinks,tomato and a potato then we went home and made some soup then I went to sleep for school.

Glow in the dark with Mrs Tofa

science intensive in room 7 today we went to learn about how things glow in the dark. we had to use Dissolve highlighter ink in ½ cup of water and leave to absorb

Materials- Highlighter - ½ cup of water in a clear cup- Purple & blue cellophane - Scissors - Torch- Tape - Blue and purple sharpie

Method:

1. Dissolve highlighter ink in ½ cup of water and leave to absorb
2. Cover the torch with purple cellophane then blue (first form of light)
3. Cover torch with tape and color with blue sharpie, tape again then blue again, tape then color using purple sharpie (2nd form of light)
4. Go to dark room and shine the light on the cup of colored water

In the holidays

In the holidays my mum, little aunt and I did a big clean up of our house to get checked from the Tamaki housing. My aunt and I cleaned the living room, kitchen, my mum's room, my room, bath room, toilet was a little bit tiring even though it was fun mopping the floor. Then we went to the ware house to allow the house to be inspected by the Tamaki housing.

Later our house was inspected by the Tamaki housing  and the lady  loved it and  then we also got rewarded for cleaning the house. My mum gave my aunty and I  twenty dollars each to buy whatever we want. I bought myself some clothes and some shoes. It was so fun because my uncle and his kids were there with us too. 

After that we went to the park and played while my  mum and uncle were having a family talk. I had a lovely time.

  Clubs

Yesterday, the 17th of May 2018 the whole school went for club activities. Lesieli  and I were in the same club which is ukulele with Mr Mooyman in room 4.

When we got into Mr Mooyman classroom he told us to get a ukulele and sit down onto the chair. When we sat on our chair Mr Mooyman said we all have to play the song “ I’m yours”  by Bruno Mars. Then after playing I’m yours we played “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran.

After that we  played “Havana”  by Camila. Then we packed up because it was almost time to go home. I didn’t want to leave because I was having a lot of fun.
